Working as a community to stop the development of 900 homes and re-open the Gorstyhill golf course

Poll: What would you like to see happen with the Gorstyhill Golf Club land?

STICKY – This post is fixed to the top of the homepage for visibility, newer posts/news-stories may be found below.

Following some advice on a path we are pursuing, it was recommended that we create a survey/poll to gather opinion from residents, locals and community members on what should happen to the land that Gorstyhill Golf Club use to occupy.

Please have your say below:

Note that all results will be kept private and used by the committee in future communications with parties involved.

  1. Pity the vote doesn’t give you an option to rate them from your preffered option to your least favourite option, I’d be happy with any of the 4 options except houses.
If we had 150 people each willing to put up say 10000 (that’s say 70 a month for 15years) that’s 1.5million…take the land private or buy it as a golf club?

  2. I love the idea of a country park, the wildlife it would invite would be fantastic for the children.
But would also be happy for it to return to a golf club, provided there was something in the deeds to say it can only EVER be used as such!

  3. Of course have voted for return of golf course but would be keen to explore ways of incorporating public access with designated paths and/or zonation management e.g. times for public access. This combines the golf recreation value with ‘parkland’ value. Ideally it would be great to work towards a compromise with the management of the course which also sees the site managed for nature.
